Site Council
Lyndale Site Council is a group of parents, teachers, Admin and Community Members who meet once a month to support site based decision making to increase academic success for our students. support site-based decision making to increase academic outcomes for our students. Site councils are a way that parents and community members can learn what is happening in their school and influence decisions. It's important for site councils to reflect the student population of the schools to ensure a diversity of ideas and input.
Site Council ensures that the school is working to meet the goals established through our Family Engagement Plan process, which includes writing and updating our School Improvement Plan (SIP), School Compact and Community Goals as discussed during PTO and Site Council Meetings during the year. School Site Councils should represent the community they serve in race, language and gender identity. For example, if our school has a significant population of the following races, those races should be represented by a parent member: Somali, Latine, Hmong. Along same line, if there is a significant population that speaks another language, that language should be represented by a parent who speaks that language and the school should provide an interpreter.
